I didn&#8217;t know whether it made sense for my horse to make this investment (to buy the gaiters) or not. Unfortunately, my horse has several problems, he is 20 years old, &#8220;actually fit&#8221;, but he has shivering, which is becoming more and more of a problem as he gets older and he also had a colic operation 10 years ago, which is why he has developed lymphoedema in his right hind leg. Our experience has shown that the compressive effect can reduce swelling well. A gaiter that is bought too large is then quickly too wide.  <\/p>\n<p>In the transition period, we can work with climbing extensions. These can be attached to the Velcro straps and extend the circumference of the gaiter for the initial period.
