Compression * Infrared
VITANDAR’s are versatile
The unique combination of compression therapy and infrared effect to boost circulation makes our boots a versatile companion in various situations:
Extra high stable boots offer more joint support
The VITANDAR XL stable boots are an advancement of our ‘normal’ Classic Stable Boots. The ‘XL’ stands for Extra Long. They are cut significantly higher to achieve more effect in the joint area. We developed them in collaboration with our veterinarian for use in therapies, after injuries and surgeries.
Like the regular Classic stable boots, the XL stable boots can support and promote the regeneration process. The infrared ceramic membrane improves blood circulation in the tissue and brings more oxygen to the region.
VITANDAR boots are not only used for therapeutic purposes but also for prevention.

Einsatzbereiche für VITANDAR Gamaschen
VITANDAR boots can be used here for heat therapy. Through the infrared effect, they generate gentle deep heat, which improves the fluidity of the joint fluid (synovia). This alleviates arthritic pain during movement. The extra high cut includes the carpal and hock joints, providing support there as well.
In numerous applications, we have found that the SURFACE area covered by the boot is crucial. Individual hock protectors or bell boots are less effective than a long boot that stimulates circulation throughout the entire leg. Adjacent regions are also supplied. The effect radiates and does not stop at the edge of the boot.
The infrared effect generates deep heat that increases blood circulation and brings more oxygen to the region around the tendon tissue. This supports the body’s self-healing powers. Metabolic products can be transported away more quickly.
The compression effect supports the tissue and improves lymphatic drainage, which counteracts swollen legs – especially during periods of increased stall rest.
The thickness of the boots provides good kick and impact protection during the standing phase in the stall.
Important: always wait for the acute phase, during which cooling is necessary, until hematomas have subsided. In the healing phase, VITANDAR boots can then be used. Discuss the right timing with your veterinarian.
The infrared effect also has a positive impact on bone healing, as surrounding tissue is better supplied with blood.
Our boots can serve as a substitute for bandages and wraps, which we have tested in numerous cases together with veterinarians.
They are high and thick enough for sufficient padding and impact protection of the operated area.
Unlike bandaging, the Performance Foam of our boots is significantly softer on the skin, which prevents skin pressure sores during prolonged use. If more support is needed initially, you can bandage over them – the cushioning properties of the boot are retained.
In these cases, the boots can be applied unilaterally only to the operated leg.
Our boots act like compression stockings, but are much quicker and easier to put on.
The compression effect can be precisely adjusted with the 5 evenly spaced hook-and-loop fasteners – depending on whether a tighter or looser fit is desired.
Thanks to the extra high cut, the lymph is guided well through the joint, so that nothing accumulates below, which can happen with boots/bandages that are too short.
With the Performance Foam inside the boot, it always fits snugly and softly against the horse’s leg, without pressing on bones.
The tissue is gently supported by the compression, while the infrared effect stimulates lymph circulation.
VITANDAR boots are thickly padded enough for good kick and impact protection. The Performance Foam inside has very good shock-absorbing properties.
Kick injuries can be avoided during transport. If desired, bell boots can be added for hoof protection.
The infrared effect provides deep warmth and can prepare tendons and ligaments for athletic use. But be careful: the boots do not replace warming up!
The compression effect supports the tissue and lymph, so that swollen legs can be counteracted during long transports.
When windgalls appear, it is urgent to investigate the causes regarding housing, training, and feeding.
The best chances for therapy exist if they are still in the initial stage and soft.
In a healthy horse, joint fluid has a viscous consistency. Otherwise, it becomes thinner, which impairs its lubricating function and can lead to the formation of windgalls.
Here, VITANDAR boots with their gentle compression effect can help counteract these bulges. The infrared effect can also improve the circulation of the joint fluid.
Wearing comfort
Focus on fit
During the development of the stable boots, in addition to the active principle with the infrared effect, the fit and seating on the horse’s leg were also paramount.
The boots should be as easy to handle as possible, self-explanatory, and wearable by anyone. This includes ensuring that nothing slips or presses.
So, we used a foam on the inside that is porous enough to provide good breathability. But it is also crease-resistant so that the boots do not slide down or bunch up on the leg.
Why VITANDAR gaiters fit so well
Factors for a good fit
No cushions – no slipping
Our stable boots consist of ‘one piece’. This means there is no slipping of internal pads. This also makes putting on the stable boots easier, especially when done by helpers.
No overlap – no pressure points
VITANDAR stable boots close ‘butt-to-butt’ at the front. We wanted to avoid overlap, as this can cause pressure points, especially when boots remain on the horse’s leg for a longer time. The size range of XS, S, M, L, and XL covers the spectrum very well. You can find a size chart under Sizes.
No neoprene – no heat build-up
Neoprene is a synthetic rubber and therefore not breathable at all. That’s why we use a large-pored foam for our stable boots, which, in addition to good ventilation properties, also conforms very nicely to the horse’s leg. Our Performance Foam also has good stability, so the stable boots do not collapse.

Instructions for use
Proceed as follows:
Start slowly
Start the application slowly and increase the dose gradually.
In the first few days of use, the increased blood circulation can lead to an increased effect. The application should then be reduced again and gradually increased in the following days.
We recommend that the products are not used continuously for 24 hours, but that the body is always given a boost by alternating between use and rest. The optimum duration for most applications is half a day, e.g. overnight use.
Observe your horse to see if it feels comfortable with it!
In stable & box
VITANDAR stable boots are intended for use during rest. Therefore, primarily use them when the horse is in the stall or at the grooming area. Ideal for overnight use.
In outdoor use
The stable boots are also partially suitable for use in the paddock or pasture. Use is possible under good ground conditions. Care must be taken to ensure that no sand or mud penetrates, which could cause chafing. Regular checks for a good fit should also be made.
Use cases
VITANDAR gaiters are suitable for the following areas of application:
– to promote lymph flow and blood circulation
– for wound healing
– for regeneration after exercise
– for supportive treatment of injuries
Stable Boots XL front legs
The XL gaiters for the front legs are cut extra high to reach the carpal joint.
So that the horse can bend its legs comfortably when lying down, a cut-out has been worked into the back of the gaiter so that nothing can pinch.
Die Stallgamaschen werden mit 5 Klettverschlüssen geschlossen und lassen sich damit sehr gut an das Pferdebein anpassen.

Stable Boots XL for front legs
The XL gaiters for the hind legs are also cut extra high and reach up to the hock.
The top Velcro ends sufficiently in front of the bend so that the horse can bend the leg well when lying down without it constricting.
They are also closed with 5 Velcro fasteners. Here, too, we have made sure that the horse can bend its leg well forwards when lying down.
