The original – since 2015
- Robust & breathable and suitable for 24/7 use
- No creasing & no slipping, even outdoors
- Support with therapies
VITANDAR specializes in equestrian sports products that skillfully combine fit and material composition. We design all our products ourselves and test them in collaboration with riders and horse owners.
Our products are strictly focused on function and therapeutic benefits. We select all materials with care, many years of experience, and a focus on European origin.
Our products use a ceramic matrix that reflects radiated body heat and generates deep warmth in the tissue. This can improve oxygen supply and support the body’s natural healing processes.

For support in injuries to the tendon, ligament, and skeletal system:
We were cautious at first, but in the meantime we have received enough positive feedback that our boots work well in open and active stabling. Especially horses with osteoarthritis or horses on a therapeutic break should receive the support of the boots while they are in the open stable. This works very well.
However, there are still a few things you should bear in mind:
– There should be good ground conditions. Ideally, the run should be paved or largely dry. Deep mud holes, for example, should be avoided. Mud and sand can penetrate the gaiters and cause chafing.
– Make sure the gaiters fit correctly and check daily that they sit well on the horse’s leg.
– Take them off daily and remove dirt and sand. Simply brushing them out is sufficient.
– Make sure that the lowest Velcro fastener is securely fastened. It must be sufficiently tight and prevent the gaiters from slipping over the hoof during movement. Otherwise the horse may step on them.
– The gaiters are well equipped to withstand rain. The outer material is water-repellent. However, if they get very wet, lay them out to dry. You can also place them on a – not too hot – heater.
VITANDAR Leg Wraps are versatile:
· Pain relief for osteoarthritis
Deep heat promotes the circulation of synovial fluid. This helps maintain better mobility in the affected limbs. The soothing warmth alleviates pain during movement.
· For swollen legs and to support the lymphatic system
The good compression effect of the leg wraps supports the lymphatic system in draining lymph. This counteracts the swelling of the legs.
· For windgalls
Gentle compression and the infrared effect can counteract windgalls. The younger and softer they are, the greater the chances of success.
– Impact protection in the box
Inside our gaiters is a performance foam that is thick enough to absorb and distribute impacts well.
– During transportation
Thanks to their good protective properties and the infrared effect, which stimulates blood circulation, our gaiters are also ideal for transportation on a trailer. They also counteract swollen legs during long journeys.
– Supporting the healing of leg and tendon damage
Once the acute phase following an injury is over and the swelling has subsided, blood circulation can be supported as the healing process progresses. This brings more oxygen to the affected areas and promotes self-healing.
· Post-operative care
Instead of bandaging, VITANDAR Leg Wraps can be used. The Performance Foam inside is softer on the skin and prevents bruising during prolonged use. The leg wraps are thick enough for impact protection and shock absorption. The infrared effect promotes blood circulation, and the compression effect counteracts leg swelling during the standing phase. For those who need more support, normal bandages can be applied over them.
Yes, absolutely! Our boots are very well suited to support horses with osteoarthritis. The ceramic matrix reflects body heat and generates comfortable deep warmth in the tissue. This can increase circulation, especially of the joint fluid (synovia). It then lubricates better and thus relieves pain during movement—especially on cold, damp winter days. The boots can be used up to 24/7.
Also discuss this with your vet or therapist!
In principle, yes, but be sure to discuss this with your vet!
If you want to stimulate blood circulation and work with deep heat, you can use the gaiters very well. They also offer good impact protection as they are sufficiently thickly padded. They also support the lymphatic system during the standing phase in the box and thus prevent legs from becoming swollen. You can easily adjust the pressure for the compressive effect using the Velcro fasteners.
If the skin surface is damaged, use wound dressings to cover and protect the area. The same applies if you use creams and liniments. Then the gaiters will not get so dirty. (However, you can wash them at any time. You will find washing instructions below).
Yes, in special cases this is not a problem. We have done enough tests and received feedback that it is not a problem to use the gaiters in full-time use. The legs will not ‘boil over’ with the effect. You should also discuss this with your vet or therapist.
However, make sure they fit correctly and clean them regularly.
Increase the duration gradually over the first 2–3 days until you reach your desired application time. However, it’s not about an hour more or less. Time it so it fits well into your stable routine. The main goal during the adjustment phase is to get the horse used to the boots in general and, secondly, to prepare the body for the effect. This works well with increasing intervals—and you don’t have to stand there with a ‘stopwatch’.
If there are no other instructions, we recommend initially applying the product for half a day. For example, at night in the box on – during the day off. This on/off effect will constantly give the body a new impulse with the far infrared effect. Around this time, you can work your way up to the optimum application time for your horse.
Up to 20 degrees, after that you have to feel your way. Our gaiters are very breathable. Nevertheless, the whole thing has its limits at the height of summer in hot temperatures. Observe your horse and work your way up to a comfortable temperature. You could then only use them at night, for example, when the temperatures cool down.
Yes, very much so. The boots are thick enough to provide sufficient cushioning against knocks. Add bell boots and you’re done.
You have other advantages over conventional transport boots:
– pre-warming effect when you go to training or competitions
– support for the lymphatic system during long journeys and standing times on the trailer
– slim and snug fit suits horses that have difficulty with transport boots
No, they are not designed for riding.
When riding, your horse is in motion anyway. This already stimulates the blood circulation and lymphatic system, so you don’t need the gaiters at these times.
Always use leg protection designed for riding!
The use of VITANDAR products is not considered doping. No substances are transferred to the body.
You can use all our products during preparation and at the tournament.

Heat therapy is an alternative form of therapy that uses heat to relieve pain, improve circulation and promote healing. It can be used for a variety of conditions, such as:
– muscle tension
– joint pain and osteoarthritis
– back pain
– musculoskeletal injuries
It is a very old form of therapy and has been used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Heat therapy is a safe and e!ective form of therapy that can help to alleviate pain and improve well-being in many horses.
Deep heat is a special type of heat therapy that transports heat into deeper layers of tissue. This can be particularly helpful for complaints that lie deeper in the body, such as muscle tension.
There are different ways of generating deep heat. We use far-infrared radiation to penetrate deeper layers of tissue.
An organism constantly emits heat to its environment in the form of far-infrared radiation. This energy is normally lost. A special ceramic matrix, which is firmly laminated into our fabrics, reflects this radiant body heat and returns it to the body. Far infrared textiles are therefore often used for therapeutic purposes and support the body’s self-healing powers. They have a very gentle effect and can therefore be worn for longer periods of time.
Almost all of our products work with far infrared technology. We have integrated the ceramic matrix into the textiles to support important parts of the horse’s body.
