Information: The VITANDAR therapeutic fly mask is a special form of our classic fly mask. The part above the eye ring is made of opaque cotton canvas. It thus casts a shadow on the horse’s face to protect the eyes even more from sunlight. Horses with eye diseases, such as periodic eye inflammation or after surgery, require special protection from the sun and UV radiation. An effective protection here is the shadow cast.
2 variants:
Standard: Fly mask protects only the eyes, nose and ears are free
With ear and nose protection: the fly mask has ears and a removable nose flap
Our fly mask offers a high level of comfort and is suitable for use in open stables. It has a good fit. The ring at the level of the eyes ensures that the mesh does not wrinkle into the eyes. A new feature is the extra-wide neck attachment with the ‘neck strap’. This prevents the mask from being pulled off by shaking, rolling and rubbing by 90%. This principle enormously increases the time it stays on the horse’s head, especially if the mask has to be worn over a longer period of time due to a therapeutic necessity.
Safety First: The neck strap is split at the neck: if your horse gets caught somewhere with the fly mask, this would be the breaking point to tear in an emergency.
Fly masks in open stable use should be checked daily for correct fit. Also remove the mask daily to clean and check it!
